We've gained in rain since Raquel arrived from Spain

Rockhampton has been enjoying an unusually good wet season since Raquel Martinez Garcia arrived to study English at the CQU Language Centre.
Raquel first arrived in the region in October last year to visit her uncle and aunt in Yeppoon, but then decided to enrol at CQU in November.
She will study with us until February 24, before heading to the University of Queensland to seek a Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English, which is very recognised in Spain.
A native of Leon who has spent the past 11 years in Madrid, Raquel has previously studied Chemistry at San Pablo CEU University and the Science and Technology of Food at Complutense University.
She has worked at an Institute of Education, coordinating fast-track training programs designed for specially gifted kids.
Raquel moved to live at the Capricornia College to reduce her travel time and has enjoyed the friendliness of her classmates and teachers.
She has enjoyed movies, swimming and visits to Yeppoon and Emu Park.
She is keen to gain her Cambridge certificate so she can work as a primary school English teacher upon her return to Spain.
