CQUniversity is rolling out a range of new allied health programs. Students will be able to find out about new programs in oral health, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry and speech pathology.
In related news, the new Master of Health Professional Education provides a multidisciplinary program of study for healthcare professionals involved in teaching and learning in a variety of health service delivery settings, including the public and private sectors in nursing and allied health.
Other health-related programs on offer include nursing and midwifery, exercise and sports science, nutrition, medical imaging, clinical investigation, paramedic science and psychology.
There are also new science specialisations in ecology and conservation biology; analytical and molecular science, and agricultural and food science.
CQUniversity Executive Dean Professor Graham Pegg says students who study in the regions are more likely to stay and become a professional resource for the regions.
"We need to educate and retain our talented locals to fill the workforce shortages we face," he said.
"We're offering more summer term teaching to expand student options and we've providing pathways so all our students can aspire to join our flagship programs in sciences, engineering and health disciplines.
"We've got a really can-do ambitious attitude, we're investing money, and we're focusing on the education and training needs of regional Queensland."
