Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU 'brand' on live cattle sale webcast 

CQU Information Technology Division is providing a live web cast for the Brahman Week Cattle Sale at Gracemere Saleyards near Rockhampton.

Flexible Delivery Services manager Shaune Sinclair said the web cast idea started as a trial, but ended up as a feature of the website.

The CQU logo is prominently displayed on the site.

Mr Sinclair said this collaborative project has been made possible by CQU media streaming expertise and the implementation of CQU's new video streaming systems, due for completion in 2005.

"This has been a collaborative project between CQU, Australian Brahman Breeders Association and the Rockhampton District Saleyards Board (Gracemere Saleyards)," Mr Sinclair said.
