Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Wayne Towns due for Rotary award 

CQU staff member Wayne Towns will be receiving a 2005 Rotary Pride of Workmanship Award.

He will be presented with the award at a Rotary dinner on October 25.

Mr Towns is a member of the Flexible Delivery Services team in the CQU Information Technology Division at Rockhampton Campus.

Among other things, he provides support for CQU teaching spaces and audio/visual technology.

The award recognises the high quality of Mr Town's work, his excellence in the provision of support services to staff and students, and his important contribution to the success of CQU's business operations.
