Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op) and Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering) student Columbine Killingly celebrated the end of her CQUniversity degree program at the recent Graduating Engineers Conference - GEConTM 2011...
She also was delighted to be presented with an academic prize from the Steel Reinforcement Institute of Australia for her outstanding achievement in the course 'Concrete Structures'.
The award was presented at the conference by Associate Professor Alan McPhail, Dean, School of Engineering and Built Environment, who congratulated Columbine on her achievement.
"It's great to have such awards to encourage students and recognise their achievements," he said.
The Steel Reinforcement Institute of Australia has supported our students since 1993, rewarding them for outstanding academic performance in Civil Engineering.
Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Health staff Remadevi Dhanasekar and Shelley Fawcett played a significant role in coordinating the academic prize presentation on behalf of the University.

CQUniversity deeply appreciates contributions and support from individuals and organisations in our community because it often makes a significant difference in motivating and facilitating a student to attend and succeed at university.
Like many CQUniversity engineering students nearing graduation, Columbine has the satisfaction of knowing she has already secured full-time employment in Mackay at civil consulting firm VDM Consulting, thanks to the industry placement arranged during her program. The conference and award were a great way to wrap up her studies .
