Published on 19 June, 2007
Central Queensland University's 2007 graduating engineers will present 26 innovative engineering projects to an audience of industry members, academics, family, friends and peers as part of GECon ® (Graduating Engineers Conference) in Rockhampton, Building 29 and 30, this Friday, June 22 (9.45am to 4 pm).
Projects include Peter Hagan's Feasibility of Co-location of a Desalination Facility at the Gladstone Power Station; Chris McKeague's Design of a Kayaking Training Aid, Wendy Duong's Gold Coast Mass Transit Study - Light Rail verses Bus Rapid; and James Egerton's Outboard Engine Emissions in Sea Water.
Industry presentations will also be made by the Department of Public Works, Anglo Coal, Queensland Rail and Engineers Australia.
The Conference has been an annual event since 2002. It is designed to showcase the year's graduating class projects through oral presentations and a collection of posters.
It allows industry representatives to support their new colleagues and also provides a recruitment opportunity for employers.
