Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Dimitri 'pops' up around nation

CQU's Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music lecturer Dimitri Kopanakis has been popping up across Australia lately.

PhotoID:909 He recently performed at Arts in the Park in Rockhampton, with student singer Liz Strelow (pictured).

Last weekend, he was in Brisbane for two performances with the Queensland Pops Orchestra in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre concert hall. A total of 7000 people attended these shows.

At the end of next week, Dimitri will be in the Northern Territory for a performance with Darwin Symphony Orchestra in that city's entertainment centre.
