Whitsunday Anglican School won Mackay\'s National Science Week Year 10 Science Quiz trophy on Tuesday evening. Seven teams of three students from Clermont, Mackay Christian College, Pioneer and Whitsunday Anglican School competed for the trophy at Central Queensland University.
The Science Quiz was the final event in ‘Your Future is SET’ program which included a full day of science, engineering and technology based activities.
Event co-ordinator Vivien Clift expected the activities would help students make informed choices about their subject selection for their senior years of study.
“The students really enjoyed the rotational activities that exposed the students to options available in subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, health, information technology and multi-media,” she said.
Whitsunday Anglican School also won second and third place in the quiz.
