MLM a key to education partnerships in action

Mackay and district educators have a valuable opportunity to continue their professional learning journey through Central Queensland University’s Master of Learning Management program.
A Masters by coursework approach has enabled 9 Mackay district Education Queensland employees in the past 18 months to complete MLM qualifications based on, and developing from, their classroom practices and areas of interest.
Teachers gaining this qualification have been able to use their enhanced knowledge in their own teaching settings.
Central Queensland University benefits from having Ray Clarke, deputy principal at Sarina State High School, working as MLM Program Co-ordinator, based at CQU Mackay one day a week, as part of the partnership agreement with Education Queensland.
The program’s most recent graduate, Robyn Smith, exemplifies the partnership. Her MLM work was developed in conjunction with the Andergrove State School community and focuses on e-learning. As part of her course work, Robyn developed an electronic communication hub which is being used by the school.
