Sydney Graduate Campus welcomes the Year of the Pig

Staff and students at CQU Sydney Graduate Campus celebrated the Chinese New Year with decorations and activities.

The cultural event was organised by the client services team.

PhotoID:3745 Students were greeted with decorations around the campus, and were also treated to fortune cookies and red packets of coins for good luck.

As the day coincided with exams for many, a bit of extra luck was received with a big smile by many students.

As a special treat a lion dance complete with drummers was also incorporated into the days activities.

Traditionally the Lion dance symbolises the summoning of good luck and is always featured in Chinese New Year celebrations. The lion dance was great entertainment for all staff and students, especially those who saw it for the first time.

PhotoID:3746 We hope the year of the pig brings us all good luck and we look forward to the next Chinese New Year.
