Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Formidable singers on Q150 Shed Program 

Formidable, Mackay's very own operatic boy-band, will stage 2 shows* in the special Q150 Shed, based on the iconic Australian woolshed.

The vocal group will perform during Mackay's Q150 Shed Program, from 7pm on both Friday June 26 and Saturday June 27.

The creation of Formidable is made up of students, graduates and staff of CQUniversity. Brett O'Neill and Sam Hanson are currently enrolled in third year in the Bachelor of Theatre program. Paul Tabone is a recent graduate of the above program and Neil Young and Kris Brennan have vocal lessons from music lecturer Garrick Jones. Kim Kirkman and Judith Brown (piano) are also on staff at CQUniversity.
