Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mentors key to Mid-Year Orientation

CQU's student mentor program - experienced students helping new students - is integral to the success of the Mid-Year Orientation.

Mid-Year Orientation is conducted on various days next week for most students, with the exception of those attending CQU Mackay, which ran its event on June 28-29.

Orientation provides an opportunity for students to meet other students and staff members and to become familiar with the range of services and facilities available.
