Rockhampton Campus hosts regional engineering conference

Rockhampton Campus was the host venue and CQU was among sponsors for the 2006 Central Region Engineering Conference - 'Sustainability in a Booming Economy' - held last Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

CQU academic Steven Senini was Chair of the organising committee for the Engineers Australia (Queensland Division) event. Other Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Health staff members and engineers from the local region were also on the committee.

The conference sought to highlight engineering activities in Central Queensland that are innovative in their application or implementation and which address the issue of sustainability during a time when the region is growing rapidly.
