"I am just stoked about receiving this award for the second year in a row," said Ron, who enjoys handing on his knowledge of the industry to inspiring young aviators.
"My goal is to help aviation students learn from my life experiences and the mistakes I've learned from. I enjoy exposing them to the aviation industry (e.g. air shows and exchange programs) to help them gain self-confidence, contacts and not just theoretical but practical knowledge in combination. This is my passion".
Other CQUniversity lecturers recognised include: Justine Lawson, Maria Tyler, Ritesh Chugh, Ananda Wickramasinghe, Glen Russell, Kerry Aprile, Susan Richardson, Clare MacDermott and Angelina Ambrosetti.
Over 70,000 votes were cast in the national competition with more than 4000 lecturers nominated, making the 2010 competition the most popular to date.
UniJobs Director Jarrod Kanizay believes this overwhelming response speaks volumes about the admiration students and colleagues feel for the level of care on their campus.
"We found that faculties took great pride in having their staff nominated. Those who were shortlisted had their names put across faculty notice boards, and our phones were flooded with enquiries about those who were nominated," he said.
