Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

VC soaks up positive rays from radiography World Congress 

Australia's only radiographer Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman will be an invited guest at the gala dinner for a radiography World Congress on the Gold Coast this week (Sept 9-12).

Professor Bowman is keen to network with delegates attending from 45 countries, as CQUniversity expands its health and medical degree offerings from next year onwards.

CQUniversity's Cynthia Cowling is convenor for the scientific program at the World Congress and is part of the team developing new programs for the University. The expanded range of Health and Medical Sciences degrees for 2011 includes Medical Imaging, Medical Sonography, Medical Science and Paramedic Science.  For details contact 13CQUni (13 27 86).

The Gold Coast is hosting the 16th ISRRT World Congress, incorporating gatherings of the Australian Institute of Radiography and the New Zealand Institute of Medical Radiation Technology.
