Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU Mackay Library Society president farewelled 

Out-going CQU Library Society president and renowned concert pianist Regis Danillon was farewelled recently at the Society’s final meeting for 2003.

CQU Library Manager Pauline McNee said Mr Danillon would be missed greatly by the Library Society, after being on the committee for three years and president for 2003.

PhotoID:931 “Regis has assisted with the planning of all Library Society activities such as the Film Nights, Secondhand Booksale and upcoming International Film Festival and has worked hard to ensure their success,” she said. He has been very supportive of the Library in his role as president and lecturer at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Regis will be introducing the festival’s opening film 1492 on Friday night. This will be his last official role as president of the society. Regis returns to Brisbane in 2004 where he will perform as the pianist for Operatif and engage in other consultancy work.
