Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

$5000 scholarship on offer for Port Curtis Region student at CQU 

Queensland Alumina Limited is offering a $5000 scholarship for a full-time first year student enrolled in Science, Business, Engineering or Informatics at Central Queensland University.

The QAL scholar will receive $5000 per year for the duration of his/her undergraduate program subject to continued satisfactory academic performance.

Applicants' home address must be in the Port Curtis Region (Gladstone City, Calliope or Miriam Vale Shires) would be. The student also would have graduated from year 12 last year.

Applications for the QAL scholarship close on 27th August, 2004 and applications forms are available at Student Administration, Gladstone Campus or Student Administration, Building 2, Rockhampton Campus.
