Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Koala 'wanted poster' circulating 

CQUniversity koala researchers Delma Clifton and Gail Tucker are circulating a 'wanted poster' to gain information about koala sightings in the Central Queensland region.

They seek sightings "dead or alive", including the date and time and location to be reported via SMS 0402 292 136.

"Reports of koalas in the central Queensland regions are increasing. Unfortunately many of the reports are of deaths on roads and railways. We are interested in finding out where koalas live in this region and need your help," Dr Clifton says.

"Please report any sightings (live or dead) by sending us an SMS, giving as much detail as possible."
