Winter Complex

The CQ Sports Centre Pool and Gymnasium (in Rockhampton) is offering Yoga and Tai Chi this winter, which is especially helpful for those of us experiencing low energy levels or an increased desire to sleep during these cooler winter days.
To take advantage of these terrific options, and the full compliment of activities at the gym, you should register your membership details with the gymnasium now.
Membership, including lunchtime sports and activities, is only $10 per fortnight for an individual and $15 for a family. And you can easily authorize the deductions from your pay. It’s hard to exercise on your own. Even with a book or video it’s hard to understand what you really should be doing. So consider signing up with a colleague. And don’t have to take big steps. The National Heart Foundation and other organisations suggest that if you are exercising to feel good, look good, and want reduce your chances of suffering from cardiovascular diseases, then you should not exercise too hard. Bottom Line? If you aren’t feeling particularly fit at the moment, you don’t need to a do a lot of work to achieve a big increase in fitness levels. Walking and “soft exercise alternatives” like yoga, tai chi, or stretch and flex are exercises you can enjoy and you can start by doing a little bit every day.
Don’t just think about exercise any longer, do something today by joining the gym at CQU.
“All staff should firstly register membership details with us so appropriate medical documentation and membership induction can take place,” says Scott Lovegrove, Sports, Clubs and Events Manager at CQU Student Association.
If you want your membership dedeucted from your pay, you will need to fill out the an authorisation form which centre staff will be able to pass onto payroll for deductions to begin. For more details on membership rules and information please contact the centre staff on ext 2159.
