CQU responds to engineering skills shortage

CQU Engineering this week announced the availability of a distance education Professional Engineering degree. This initiative becomes available from 2007.
Associate Professor David Jorgensen, Director of Engineering programs, said that CQU, in collaboration with industry, has identified the need to provide an alternative career path into professional engineering. “Students can now work while completing part-time study. Companies can meet their organisational requirements by developing the engineering capabilities of their staff," Dr Jorgensen said.
This initiative continues CQU’s commitment to assist government and industry in seeking solutions to the critical shortage of professional engineers.
