Stephanie taps into SNAP at CQU

Talented dancer Stephanie Bacon has literally 'tapped' her way into an early chance of University study.
The Yeppoon High Year 11 student has been studying a CQU Bachelor of Performing Arts subject called Ethnic, Indigenous and Multicultural Dance Styles.
She hopes to continue with other BPA dance-related subjects in 2006 with a view of a career in dance or early-childhood education.
SNAP, the School-links Non-Award Program, is designed for gifted and talented Year 11 and 12 students who are judged capable of performing well and wish to take individual courses at first-year university level.
The program allows them to complete one first-year course a term at CQU, while still completing the requirements for the Senior Certificate and gaining an OP.
SNAP students will be able to seek credit for courses completed in any university award program in which they may subsequently enrol.
Stephanie has studied jazz, tap, classical, modern and hip hop dance styles since she was 4-years-old and has started teaching younger students at the Diamond Dance Academy.
She is looking forward to this Friday afternoon (2pm-3pm) when Expressions Dance Company will conduct a workshop at CQU Rockhampton for performing arts students.
