Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Con Carnavale hots up tonight 

Dancers and actors from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music at CQU Rockhampton are performing in a series of public shows.

PhotoID:839 The remaining performances by the Bachelor of Performing Arts students will include a dance performance at the Walter Reid Centre from 7.30pm on Friday (May 30), and a drama performance at the CQU Rockhampton Helene Jones Room (Bldg 5) from 7pm on Thursday, June 5.

The dance event, for which entry is $5, will showcase students from all three years of the BPA degree under the title '5,6,7,8 Dance'. This performance also illustrates the choreographic talents of the second year BPA dance students with the themed piece \'Seven Deadly Sins\'.

PhotoID:840 The drama performance on Thursday June 5 will have an entry fee of a gold coin donation and is entitled 'A Drama Banquet', with all year levels of the degree program showcased in 'Slices', Cutz' and 'Desserts'.
