CQU email accounts migrate to new server

ITD is nearing the finalisation of a project to migrate all CQU email accounts to a new email system.

The new system will provide an advanced web-based interface for roaming users, as well as an ordered Global Address List, for ease of finding staff details.

The process started in October last year, however the migration of users mailboxes from the old server (lynx) to the new central server (rokemail) began this week from noon on Wednesday. The mailboxes will be moved according to username (the id you log in with to your workstation) alphabetically. People's whose username starts with A-G starting moving from 12 noon Wednesday, and will be followed by those whose user name starts with H-Q, then those whose username starts with R-Z. It is estimated that it will take 3 days per block of mailboxes.

ITD will notify staff of the expected time and date of the migration of H-Q and R-Z mailboxes.

During the migration of your mailbox, you will not be able to access your email. Your mailbox will be unavailable for a maximum of 1 hour.

Please note that this will not include the Faculty of Informatics & Communication and Faculty of Business & Law staff. The Faculty of Business & Law have already migrated, and the Faculty of Informatics & Communication staff will soon follow.

If you have any questions about this process, please call the Helpdesk on 9233 or email helpdesk@cqu.edu.au.
