Emerald seeks student mentors

CQUniversity's First-Year Experience Coordinator, Dr Gemma Mann recently visited the Emerald Campus to meet the prospective student mentors for 2011.

The day involved a meet and greet session accompanied by an afternoon tea shared by the staff at CQUniversity Emerald, Gemma and the candidates for the student mentor positions for 2011.

Student mentors are extremely valuable in assisting new students and providing them with support on their learning journey.

CQUniversity Emerald Campus Operations and Projects Manager, Gai Sypher said, "Starting university can be tough and our mentors always do a wonderful job of looking after our new students".

The successful applicants can look forward to training early next year, involving various workshops, debriefing on orientation processes and the benefit of sessions with previous mentors and their past experiences.
