For example, in 2006 $5000 went towards a scholarship for PhD student Stephanie Januchowski, enabling her to extend her research into a PhD examining ecosystem changes and their effects on koalas in 5 national park areas of Central Queensland.

Another $4000 went towards research into the difference between koala tooth wear in koalas on islands and those on the mainland, by Dr Alistair Melzer.

Equipment was also purchased for research and there was support for education and promotion of koala research in the community.
