Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Steppers urged to get snappy 

Walking and photography enthusiasts can snap up a prize simply by sharing their walking photos.

The '10,000 Steps Photo Competition' offers a grand prize of a Bay of Fires Walk (Tasmania) for 2, donated by Anthology Travel, and a $1000 travel voucher.

Entrants need only ensure there are people walking in their photos, which can be entered by email in the submission categories:  Active Lifestyles, Active Workplaces, Active Communities, Active Aboriginals and Islanders; and 10,000 Steps Around the World.

Entries are open throughout September and the competition is open to Australian residents aged 18 or older.

Category winners will gain a 10,000 Steps prize pack including pedometers, shirts, hats, water bottles and stress balls. All CQUniversity staff not directly working with the 10,000 Steps program are eligible to win.
