As part of the International Week festivities, a student exchange information market was staged in the Commercial Centre courtyard.

Dr Alan Gold from University of Windsor, Canada, was on hand to field student inquiries about studying in Canada.

He encouraged students to consider Canada as a study destination for the contrast in climate and the wide array of courses.

He believed students should consider studying for 2 semesters in Canada with the first semester beginning in September and the second semester ending at the end of April - this would allow time sightseeing before they would have to begin their term back in Australia.

Swedish exchange student Sanna Nilsson from Halstad University is currently on an exchange program in Rockhampton.

She said it was great to experience another country and its culture. She also liked the opportunity to mix with other international students as well as the local residents.
