Roe floats plan for 'future park' aquaculture facilities

CQUniversity's Dr Brett Roe will play an integral role in drafting a development application required to begin the development phase of the Ulladulla Future Park in New South Wales.

Dr Roe had the chance to speak to Opposition Leader Tony Abbott about the proposed Future Park recently (March 19) when the senior politician toured the Marine and Freshwater Centre at the University of Wollongong's Shoalhaven campus with local MP Joanna Gash.

An Honorary Research Fellow with CQUniversity Centre for Plant and Water Science, Brett said the proposal aimed to convert Ulladulla's decommissioned wastewater treatment plant into an aquaculture research, tourism and recreation facility.

With his planned role as designer and manager of Integrated Multi-trophic Aquaculture facilities, Dr Roe is working in cooperation with Dr Pia Winberg from the Marine and Freshwater Centre and Ipswich-based aquaculturist Paul Van der Werf.
