Mackay's Main Street Nightclub set to resemble medical landscape

Main Street Nightclub is set to resemble a hospital ward on October 4 as a nursing fancy dress party will be used to assist Central Queensland University nursing student Belle Marriage’s exchange trip to Sweden.
Ms Marriage is the first CQU Mackay student to be awarded a scholarship that allows her to undertake a clinical placement in Ostersund from late October.
“I’ll be completing unpaid work in Sweden for eight-weeks, so it would be wonderful if I could receive some extra assistance from the local community,” she said.
“Apart from working and learning in a Swedish hospital, I will be using the experience to promote the Mackay district and what we offer.”.
Ms Marriage was chosen from a field of third-year CQU nursing students who displayed sound academic achievements, an ability to cope with the challenges of working overseas and an enthusiasm for representing their chosen profession, university and country.
Money raised from the October 4 event will used to assist with her living expenses. First-year CQU nursing students raised $115 in an hour from a car wash held on the campus recently.
