Rocky people welcome to watch rarely-screened films

Members of the public are welcome to attend free screenings of experimental/advant-garde films at CQU Rockhampton over the next month.
The first 2 screenings are on Monday nights (April 10 and April 17) and the final screening is Thursday, May 4. All are from 6pm to about 9.30pm in the ground floor of Building 6 on campus.
Screening organiser Dr Jeannette Delamoir, from the School of Contemporary Communication, said these films were chosen to meet the needs of two budding filmmakers from CQU but are open to all.
"The screenings include short films of just a few minutes, as well as one that is almost 2 hours long," she said.
"There is a mix of films from Australia and overseas, with the oldest from 1924, and the most recent from 1999. There is a range of film styles represented; some of the films are narrative, while some are quite abstract.
"Some were made by artists who are known for their work in other fields, such as painting; some are made from scraps of 'found footage'.
