Journal snaps up CQU conference papers

Two CQU conference papers have been snapped up by an international journal based on reviewer assessment before going into the proceedings for the event.

The papers were submitted by Faculty of Business and Informatics researchers for the InSITE 2007 (Informing Science+Information Technology Education) joint conference due in Slovenia in June this year.

One of the CQU papers, by PhD student Guru Singh and staff members Louise Hawkins and Associate Professor Greg Whymark (of Group SolutionS), was not only chosen directly for the 'Interdisciplinary Journal of Knowledge and Learning Objects'; it was also an award winner.

The CQU trio's paper entitled 'An integrated model of collaborative knowledge building' was one of only 10 submissions to gain 'best paper' awards, among the 154 submissions for the conference.

The other CQU paper chosen directly for the journal was submitted by Irit Alony from the School of Commerce and was co-authored with Associate Professor Greg Whymark and Michael Jones from the University of Wollongong.

It is entitled 'Sharing tacit knowledge: a case study in the Australian Film Industry'.
