Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Delma impresses with 'Weird and Wacky Animals' 

CQUniversity's Dr Delma Clifton recently impressed pupils at Mackay's Chelona State School with a 'Weird and Wacky Animals' presentation, used to highlight the many roles of scientists in our community.

The presentation was in conjunction with the school's Science Week Science Fair.

With canister rockets soaring, a homemade boat regatta and balloon surfing among the many activities, the whole school community was left in no doubt that getting scientific can be terrific fun.
