Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Opposition spokesperson for Education visits Melbourne Campus 

The federal Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Senator Brett Mason, paid a visit to CQUniversity Melbourne on August 27.

Senator Mason met with the Victorian State Director Associate Professor Ken Bruce, CMS General Manager Global Sales and Marketing Peter Bakker, Senior Research Associate Professor David Hamilton, Student Services Manager Tania Vitale and the Director of CQUniversity's International Education Research Centre Professor Paul Rodan.

The visitor was interested in discussing recent issues which have arisen in international education and appreciated the insights which the experienced staff were able to provide.

His visit came as a Senate Inquiry into the Welfare of International Students got under way.
