Dragon boat excuse beats 'dog ate my homework'

Occupational Health & Safety student Brea Richardson, from Canberra, has come up with one of the better excuses for seeking an assignment extension - she is competing in an international dragon boat competition.

CQU Senior Lecturer in OHS Yvonne Toft noted the excuse might warrant recogition in UniNews.

Ms Richardson is a member of the Sydney City Dragons team (including ACT reps) which is currently competing in the 2007 Chinese National Dragon Boat Month Series Races on the Yangtse River, an official series recognised by the International Dragon Boat Federation.

The rally race segment of the Chinese series is also listed in the World Guiness Book of Records.
