CQU lecturer's artwork selected for prestigious exhibition
Published on 31 May, 2005
An artwork by CQU Sydney multimedia lecturer Andrew Mamo has been selected for inclusion in an upcoming exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
The exhibition, entitled 'Thirty Something', is a 30-year retrospective of the Kala Art Institute, an influential art establishment specialising in print media and situated in Berkeley, California.
The exhibition will show work by artists who have been a part of Kala’s 30 year history.
Mr Mamo's association with the Kala Art Institute began in 2003 when he was awarded the Institute’s Fellowship and Residency.
He was an artist-in-residence at Kala for about a month in early 2003.
"This was a very productive and fruitful experience, and much of the work I have produced since then was shaped in style and content by my time there," Mr Mamo said.
The Mamo work selected for the retrospective is a more recent piece produced earlier this year – a digital print called 'From the Bone of Cain'.
The 'Thirty Something' exhibition runs from June 29-July 29 this year.
