Fledgling performers plan emotional debut

Six young female actors have banded together to seek professional work, as they prepare to graduate from CQU's performing arts degree.
They will debut an experimental theatre act called 'Family Portrait' in front of a Brisbane audience set to include festival organisers and other industry contacts.
The self-developed act, called 'Family Portrait', will debut at the Angry Mime performance and workshop night on August 26.
The women (Lynda Dowley, Joanna Warren, Tegan Devine, Nicola Bracken, Tessa Coulter and Belinda Crawley) have been collaborating with Transient Theatre and Angry Mime contact Tony Kishawi, in his role as an industry mentor for CQU's degree.
Centering on family and emotions, 'Family Portraits' aims to experiment with the audience through stories and their meanings.
The Angry Mime Project runs an informal performance once a month for established and emerging performance based artists. It provides the opportunity for performers' intimate and experimental work to enjoy an audience.
The Angry Mime is now at the visibleink space at 54 Berwick Street in the Fortitude Valley (Next to the Judith Wright Centre).
The Angry Mime has a focus driven by the disciplines, practiced by The Angry Mime initiators: clown, new vaudeville, mask, puppetry, improvisation in performance, contemporary / alternative dance, and mime.
