Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU library staff win scholarship 

CQU Library's Kate Watson and Chelsea Harper are the current recipients of the prestigous Ray Choate Scholarship.

PhotoID:2655 Each year the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) awards a scholarship to new and emerging researchers.

Kate and Chelsea submitted an application promising to investigate the potential of blog and wiki technologies for the delivery of information services.

The research will involve surveying a variety of libraries around Australia, piloting blog technology in CQU Library and presenting their findings at the ALIA biennial conference in Perth in 2006.

The pair were presented with a cheque at Queensland University of Technology on Tuesday December 6.
