CQU Mackay shows Christmas spirit
Published on 11 December, 2006
Central Queensland University (CQU) Mackay has got into the Christmas spirit of giving this year, donating boxes of Christmas goodies and a $500 cheque to The Salvation Army Mackay Corps.
Lesleigh Cran, administrative officer at CQU Mackay presented the money raised throughout the year and the Christmas hampers to Major Marie Gittins this week.
CQU Mackay staff have been bringing along non-perishables, kids toys and clothes to work to leave in the donation baskets for the past 4 weeks in the lead up to Christmas.
“It’s good to remember those less fortunate than ourselves at Christmas,” said Lesleigh.
The goodies will be distributed this week through the help of Crisis Accommodation Support Association (CASA) and the Adopt a Family campaign supported by The Daily Mercury.
