Rocky Chinese Radio Show has been on air in Rockhampton for the last two and half years, with assistance from CQU staff and students.
Program producer Stephen Lin thanks the constant support from volunteers who are working or studying at the University.
Molly Yang, a coordinator of overseas agents at CQU International, is the original joint presenter and producer.
From its beginning, the radio show has drawn support from CQU.
Academic staff members, research students and visiting scholars become guests who can shed light on cutting-edge technologies and current issues.
Students are keen to be involved regularly. They enjoy presenting news items, playing Chinese pop music and building up a profile in the community.
Wayne Chen, an arts student from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is one of the regular presenters.
The Chinese program has been produced locally for Chinese speakers living in the Rockhampton area.
It provides a regular supply of information and some cultural networks for new students and residents from Chinese-speaking regions such as mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and some South East Asian countries.
The Chinese program is one of the many language groups presented at Radio 4 YOU.
CQU International employee Lavenia James is presenting the Fijian language program.
Other programs include Indian, Aboriginal, Scottish/Irish and a multicultural combination show.
CQU has been a generous sponsor for Radio 4 YOU.
