New enrolments rolling

From this week, prospective undergraduate students may apply for enrolment at Central Queensland University through QTAC, the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre.

“Undergraduate applications to CQU should be made through QTAC’s on-line system at www.qtac.edu.au,” explained Leanne White, CQU’s Director of Student Administration.

CQU offers more than 90 programs in sciences, health, business, education, performing arts, engineering, information technology, the humanities and communications.

Applications for CQU’s postgraduate studies have also commenced. Prospective postgraduate students should apply direct to CQU.

“Anyone who’s interested in applying should get a copy of our undergraduate or postgraduate information kits by calling 1300 360 444,” she said.

CQU is regarded among the best universities in Australia for positive graduate outcomes and is rated very highly for its entry flexibility and the starting salaries of its graduates.

“As a matter of fact we’re rated higher than any other university in Queensland for graduate starting salaries according to the new Good Universities Guide,” added Ms White.

“CQU gave me a lot more confidence ... and prepared me for the work I am now encountering,” said recent CQU graduate Brooke Veliscek, a Gladstone-based electrical engineer.

Bachelor of Business Accounting student Adrian Abeya, who graduates next year, has already accepted a position for a job that begins in February 2005. “I’ve always been interested in business law and I’ll be working on taxation law and compliance issues for major companies,” he said.

Applicants wishing to apply to undergraduate programs should apply by September 30, and postgraduate applications should be made by November 30. END
