The painting depicts the journey of the Brolgas down the great western river system which flows from Carnavon Gorge Marlong Plains Central Queensland down to Victoria, South Australia into the Murray River system than into the ocean...

Brolgas are the only true native crane of Australia and when they get a partner they stay together for life. In the painting the different coloured dots represent the landscape such as trees along the river. The river is depicted by the light blue pattern with the white dots. The black circles represent the different fishing camps where I used to go fishing with my father and brothers catching Yellow Belly freshwater perch (Thagaay), Catfish or also known as Eeltail catfish ( Gaygay) and Murray Cod (Guduu).

When I was growing up my father and brother were going fishing I would often see the Brolgas dancing, this inspired me to do traditional dances, when I moved to the eastern coast I joined dance troupes and taught the Brolga Dance.
