Engineering Co-Op program produces positive outcomes

At the Engineering Co-op Program information evening in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Mackay on Tuesday August 22, potential engineering students and their parents will hear why CQU is ranked among the highest-rated universities.

CQU received a five-star rating in the 2007 Good Universities Guide for positive graduate outcomes and the Bachelor of Engineering Co-Op/Diploma of Professional Practice Program has contributed to these results.

Program Director, Ian Devenish said that because the Engineering Co-Op Program mixes learning with work, graduates from the program are highly sought after by employers.

“Graduates from the Engineering Co-Op Program have a near 100% employment rate with most of the students gaining professional positions before completion of their degree".

“For students interested in pursuing a career in Engineering, the information evening provides an opportunity to speak with academic staff members and both past and present students,” Mr Devenish said.

The information evening is open to Year 11 and 12 students and their parents. It will be held between 6.30pm – 9.30pm.

All those wishing to attend are required to register by contacting Engineering Reception on 4930 9733 or email engineering-enquiries@cqu.edu.au .
