Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

VC Awards up for grabs 

Nominations are being sought for the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence to general staff.

The awards recognise and reward outstanding contributions to the University by general staff.

PhotoID:781 Winners will receive a development grant of $2000 to be used for further professional development.

All general staff are eligible to be nominated, either as individuals or as members of a group. A maximum of three awards are available for 2002.

Nominations can be made on behalf of other individual staff or groups of staff or by individual staff or groups of staff seeking awards for themselves.

Nominations close on Friday 9 May, 2003. A selection panel comprising the Director of the Equity and Diversity Office, and four elected general staff members of the General Staffing Committee will review the nominations. The Committee will make their recommendation to the Vice-Chancellor for approval.
