Calliope Shire residents encouraged to have their say

Calliope Shire residents are encouraged to take part in the Calliope Shire Council 2006 Community Survey, which is being conducted by independent researchers from Central Queensland University in partnership with the Calliope Shire Council.

The aim of this research is to explore the attitudes and opinions of residents of Calliope Shire towards the Calliope Shire Council and towards general community issues.

The information collected will be used to identify issues that may need to be addressed and to identify opportunities to improve services at a local level. It will also help to identify how the community views the performance of the Shire Council.

Residents throughout the Shire will be randomly selected to receive the survey in a postal mail-out which will occur later this week.

Participation by those who have been randomly selected is highly important in ensuring that the results of the survey accurately represent the views of the community.

For more information about this research, please contact Christine Hanley of Central Queensland University (07 4930 6335) or Mark Larney of the Calliope Shire Council (07 4975 8100).

The survey will be conducted by CQU’s Population Research Laboratory.
