Emerald Campus participates in Sunflower Parade

CQU Emerald staff and students spent Easter Saturday participating in the Emerald Easter Sunflower Parade.

This year marked 30 years of the Festival and the street parade remains the main focus of the weekend activities.

PhotoID:2999 Hundreds of people lined the streets along the path of the parade to receive lollies and promotional materials.

There were about 60 floats in the procession that slowly made their way to the Emerald Race Course.

During the afternoon activities, the winner of the best float was announced. Unfortunately, CQU was not a winner on the day, however staff have vowed to win next year.

PhotoID:3000 Campus spokesperson Gai Sypher said that this was the third time CQU Emerald Campus has participated in the parade and it was a great opportunity for students and staff to work together creatively to promote the campus.

Plans are already underway for next year’s procession.
