Alumnus becomes Australia's latest bush author

The Bark Cutters is a gripping family saga by Australia's newest bush storyteller, Nicole Alexander.
Past and present interweave in a story that traces the Gordon family from the arrival of Scottish immigrant Hamish Gordon in the 1850s, to the life of his great grand-daughter, Sarah.
The CQUniversity Master of Letters Alumnus will visit the University Bookshop on Rockhampton Campus on Wednesday May 26 for a lunchtime visit and book signing at 12.30pm.
Nicole is a fourth-generation grazier working full-time on her family property located 110km north-west of Moree, near the NSW-QLD border.
She had previously left the property for a glamorous life and good job in the city, but has now returned to run the property and write in her spare time.
She will also be speaking at the Rockhampton Regional Council Library on the Wednesday evening.Nicole's very successful non-fiction title, How to Get a Girl - a glovebox guide for men lead to numerous media interviews and speaking engagements. She had guest appearances at the NSW Writers' Centre, offered dating tips on top-range FM Perth radio station Nova and judged The Queensland Country Life's Bachelor and Bachelorette Competition.
She has also published poetry collections including Divertissements - Love-War-Society selected poems, which were printed with the assistance of a literary grant from The Poet's Network.
