Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Childcare Centre to stage cent sale 

NGundanoo Imbabee Community Childcare Centre at Central Queensland University’s Rockhampton Campus is staging a Cent Sale next Sunday, 25 August.

PhotoID:223 For $5 patrons receive entry, coffee and cake, entry into the lucky door competition and witness a fashion parade by Fun with Fashion.

Cent Sale prize tickets will be sold on the day for 50 cents, while tickets in the major raffle for a children’s BMX bike will be $1. This will be raffled on the day.

NGundanoo Imbabee Community Childcare Centre is a member of The Creche and Kindergarten Association of Queensland and is a voluntary, not for profit association, which aims to provide high quality care and programs that focus on and are responsive to the children and their families.

The Centre provides care and education to 99 families with 115 children attending the centre.

The centre was officially opened in November 1982, hence the Centre is celebrating their 10th birthday this year.
