Over 14 000 people are involved in purchasing and contracting activities in the Queensland Government.

These activities include purchasing a range of goods, services and infrastructure, from office furniture through to multi-million dollar construction or information technology projects.

Queensland Purchasing Training and Development Unit assists departments and agencies to develop and train officers involved in a variety of purchasing disciplines.

A tender is also underway for procurement training in Brindisi, South Italy.

"We will be looking for bi-lingual trainers in procurement if the contract is approved," Ken said.
