Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Biloela and Moura students attend CQU camp 

About 60 students from the Biloela and Moura districts attended Central Queensland University’s Maths and Information Technology Camp yesterday and today (Thursday August 3 and Friday August 4).

The visiting students, from years 7 to 10, attended workshops in maths, robotics, engineering, problem solving, animation, biology, chemistry, “Zing Thing” and billionaires.

The students will also have the opportunity to tour campus facilities including the CQU Community Sports Centre.

The camp has been coordinated by CQU’s Faculty of Business and Informatics.
