Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Plant Scientist avoids razor to support cancer research 

CQU plant scientist Dr Surya P Bhattarai has signed up for the 'Clip for Cancer' program and is keen to get support from other staff and students.

Clip for Cancer in an event/activity that anyone, anywhere can do to raise money for cancer research.

All that participants need to do is shave/dry/cut/colour/grow their hair or beard, or that of a willing volunteer, and seek sponsorship from friends, family, business or colleagues for doing so.

Surya is growing his beard for 6 weeks without shaving, and he is already into week 4 of the challenge which will benefit the Cancer Council Queensland. He aims to raise $5000.
